This is the SS7 TCAP-User Adaptation Layer (TUA) component of the OpenSS7 SIGTRAN stack. This
component implements the TUA functions in a STREAMS multiplexing driver.
The TUA STREAMS driver provides three interfaces: the Transaction Interface (TRI), the
Transaction Component Interface (TCI) and the mOSI Transport Provider Interface (TPI).
The TUA STREAMS driver supports I_LINK and I_PLINK of Transaction Capabilities Application Part
(TCI) streams providing SS7 TCAP TCAP-SAPs under the driver (SG operation). It also supports
I_LINK and I_PLINK of Transport Provider Interface (TPI) streams providing Stream Control
Transmission Protocol (SCTP) or other transport under the driver.

The TUA component was started in Februrary 2001.

Status:- |
The TUA component of the OpenSS7 stack is in the Coding stage, however, it has been
rewritten on a number of occasions.

This component depends on the SS7 TCAP Transaction Capabilities Application Part Component
Interface (TCI) and Transport Provider Interface (TPI) access to the Stream Control Transmission
Protocol (SCTP) or other transports.

The SS7 TCAP-User Adaptation Layer (TUA) is an integral part of the OpenSS7 STREAMS SIGTRAN
stack and provides redunancy to the OpenSS7 STREAMS SS7 stack. It can be found in the tua sub-directory in the strss7 release code.
